DIRECTOR, FOOTBALL OPERATIONS

COACH MILLS

Coach Mike Mills is the Director of Football Operations for Frederick Douglass High School. A native of Frankfort, KY, Mills was a three year Varsity football letterman at Franklin County High School (1999-2003) and a one year Varsity basketball letterman. He earned All District football honors in 2001 as Quarterback.

 

Coach Mills continued his education at Lexington Community College before transferring to the University of Kentucky. While at Kentucky, Mike was a two-time collegiate intramural football men's champion and a collegiate intramural football co-ed champion, winning a total of three school championships and one United States regional collegiate intramural football men's championship. He earned his bachelors degree in Business Marketing from the University of Kentucky in 2007.

Mills coached two years (2006-2007) at Bryan Station High School. While at Bryan Station, he was the Head Junior Varsity Coach and Varsity Wide Receiver Coach. Mike has worked at Lexmark, International from 2007-2012 in both Washington, D.C. and Lexington. Currently, he works at Toshiba Business Solutions as a Data Analyst. Mills also volunteers on the Board of Directors for the Pinnacle Home Owners Association.

Coach Mills has been married to his wife, Jamie Mills, for seven years. They have two daughters - Kennedy (4) and Kaylee (1). A native of Lexington, Jamie is an AP World History and AP Psychology teacher at Bryan Station High School. The Mills family enjoys cheering on Kentucky in all sports, attending Southland Christian Church, and watching Sunday NFL games at Roosters.
