STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

COACH TOWLE

Coach Ed Towle is the Frederick Douglass Football strength and conditioning coach.  Ed was a high school state football champion as a player, though he competed in three state championship games. He saw multiple Regional and District Championships and playoff appearances in high school.

 

While attending Marshall University, Towle was a Division 1 Varsity wrestler and a State Powerlifting Champ.  He earned his bachelor degree from Marshall University in Adult Fitness/Exercise Science.

Now in his 24th year as a strength and conditioning coach, Towle has also served as a running backs coach for 12 years and tight end/defensive end coach for four years.  His experience as a coach spreads across Marshall University, Tates Creek High School, Lexington Horsemen, and Lafayette High School, before making his way to Frederick Douglass High School.

Among his many talents, Coach Towle is a Registered Strength & Conditioning Coach *E and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. He is a USA Weightlifting Club Coach and Health Fitness Instructor. Towle is also a Health Promotion Director and is Ignition Speed System certified.  Other areas of Towle's experience include Operations Manager at American Fitness Institute, Physical Director at YMCA, and while at Ashland, Inc. he was the Recreation & Fitness and Supervisor Health Management Administrator. 

Ed Towle is married to his wife, Marianna.  They have two daughters, Anna and Olivia, and one son, Bryce.
